About the artist
Mr. Beauchene is at present a freelance painter specializing in portraiture, landscape,and historic cityscapes. He is recognized for his fauvist use of intense color on much of his work.

As an afficionado of jazz music BEAUCHENE numbers among his friends many professional musicians, several of whom have been his subjects. Their portraits surround the Steinway grand piano in his Southfield, Michigan studio.

In addition to oils and "wet-look", BEAUCHENE has experimented in other media, including fresco on wood, metal, cloth, and fiberglass.

As a master carpenter, BEAUCHENE has architected custom renovations of residential dwellings and has been the set designer for live theater.

BEAUCHENE's pursuits also include photography, animals, gardening, music, and a passion for the restoration of classic automobiles.

BEAUCHENE's paintings have been viewed by the Preston Burke Gallery, Continental Enterprises and Artglass Gallery. His work is held by private collectors in several states.
